  • A package session takes 3–5 hours. This isn't a half-hour tune-up — most of that time is the Windows install and the stability testing, and rushing either is how you end up with a PC that crashes next week. Add-ons booked on their own are much shorter, and a diagnostic block is 30 minutes.
  • Every package includes a fresh Windows install, which wipes the drive. Back up anything you want to keep before your session — photos, saves, documents, browser logins.
  • There are things you need ready on the day — for a package, a USB stick and a non-Bluetooth keyboard among them. Check the list before you book; a missing one stops the session dead. A diagnostic needs far less, and your confirmation lists only what your booking actually needs.
  • Overclocking results depend on your hardware. Two identical-looking PCs tune differently. You get the best stable result your CPU, board and memory can hold — not a number someone else posted.
  • Advanced RAM overclocking is very motherboard- and RAM-bin-dependent. On some combinations the headroom is small. We'll tell you what we're seeing as we go.
  • Overclocking and BIOS updates carry the usual risks to hardware and to manufacturer warranties. Everything is done conservatively and tested, but the decision to overclock is yours.
  • 50% deposit secures your booking; the balance is settled at the end of the session.

03 · Before your session

What to have ready

The first three apply to every booking, including a 30-minute diagnostic — it is still a remote session on a working machine. A package adds the rest, because it reinstalls Windows and goes into the BIOS. Your confirmation email lists only the ones your booking actually needs, so you are never handed instructions that don't apply to you.

It is a remote session, so the machine has to be awake and connected and you need to be sitting at it. If it only gets online by cable, have that plugged in.

We send a link at the start. You approve the connection, you watch everything that happens, and you can end it at any moment. Nothing connects before you say so.

Plus your BIOS password if you have set one. Worth finding out beforehand — a locked BIOS stops a diagnosis as surely as it stops a tune.

Which games, what it actually does — stutter, frame drops, input lag, crashes — when it started, and anything that changed around then. Half an hour goes a long way when we are not spending the first ten minutes finding the problem.

Wired or a 2.4GHz USB dongle — either is fine. It is Bluetooth-only that causes the problem: some BIOSes can't read it, and a freshly debloated Windows has no drivers for it yet.

Two steps

Add-ons work on their own as well as on top of a package: if all you want is a BIOS update, or half an hour of diagnosis before deciding anything, pick “No package” and tick just that.

    Deposit & balance

    A 50% deposit secures your booking. The balance is settled at the end of the session, once the work is done and you've seen it.

    How long it takes

    Plan for 3–5 hours for a package. Most of that is the Windows install and the stability testing — an advanced CPU or RAM overclock is mostly testing, and rushing it is how you end up with a PC that crashes next week. Basic sessions sit at the shorter end, Ultimate at the longer. If it needs a second sitting, that's included. Add-ons booked on their own are much shorter, and a diagnostic block is 30 minutes — we confirm the window when you book either way.

    Rescheduling & cancellation

    Need to move your session? Tell us at least 24 hours beforehand and we'll rebook you at no cost. Cancel with more than 24 hours' notice and the deposit is refunded in full. Inside 24 hours, or a no-show, the deposit covers the held slot.

    Your data is your responsibility

    Every package includes a fresh Windows install, which erases the drive. Please back up anything you want to keep before your session — we can't recover what wasn't backed up, and we don't take custody of your files.

    Turning up prepared

    For a package booking, the items on the prep list aren't suggestions — without a USB stick, a keyboard that works outside Bluetooth, or your game and app logins, the session can't proceed past the install. Standalone add-ons need less, and your confirmation says exactly what. If we get there and something's missing, we'll rebook you rather than burn your slot, but please treat that as the last resort rather than the plan.

    What overclocking does and doesn't promise

    We tune for a stable, tested result on your hardware. We don't promise a particular frequency, a particular frame rate, or that your kit will match someone else's — silicon varies, and advanced RAM overclocking especially depends on your motherboard and the memory you have. If the headroom isn't there, we'll say so rather than leave you on an unstable setting.

    Overclocking and BIOS updates carry the usual risks, and may affect a manufacturer's warranty. We work conservatively and test what we change, but:

    • The decision to overclock your hardware is yours
    • We don't cover pre-existing faults, failing hardware, or damage that was on its way regardless
    • Anything we change can be put back — ask and we'll return the machine to stock settings
    If something isn't right afterwards

    Tell us. If a setting we applied is causing a problem, we'll fix it or revert it — at no charge, and without an argument about whose fault it is. On the packages with client Discord access, that's the fastest way to reach us.

    Straight answers

    Will I lose my files?
    Yes, unless you back them up first. Every package includes a fresh Windows install, which wipes the drive — that's the point of it, a clean start rather than a cleaned-up mess. Back up photos, documents, game saves and anything in a browser profile before your session, and have your game and app logins to hand — Discord, Steam, Battle.net, Epic and the rest. If a clean install genuinely doesn't suit your situation, tell us before you book.
    Which package should I pick?
    Basic if you mostly want a clean, quiet Windows and the easy performance on the table. Intermediate if you want the CPU genuinely overclocked and somewhere to ask questions afterwards. Advanced is the common pick — same as Intermediate, plus the BIOS brought current and your audio sorted. Ultimate if you want the CPU and memory pushed properly and your stream set up at the same time.

    Not sure? Tell us what's in your PC and what you play — it's a two-line answer, not a sales pitch. Running Intel? The intermediate CPU overclock is the recommended minimum, so Intermediate or above.
    How long will it take?
    A package is 3–5 hours — Basic at the shorter end, Ultimate at the longer. It's not padding: the Windows install takes what it takes, and the overclocking is mostly stability testing, which is the part you'd regret us skipping. Book an afternoon you're not trying to do something else in, and if it needs a second sitting to finish properly, that's included rather than extra.

    Can I just book one thing, without a package?
    Yes. Every add-on sells on its own — if all you want is a BIOS update ($25) or an advanced RAM overclock ($100), you don't need to buy a reinstall to get it. Pick "No package — add-ons only" in the builder and tick what you want.

    And if you don't know what your PC needs, that's what the diagnostic block is for: $25 buys 30 minutes of hands-on diagnosis, we tell you what's actually worth fixing, and you're under no obligation to book anything else. Book more than one block if you'd rather we kept digging.
    How does the session actually work, and what do I need ready?
    It's a remote session: we connect to your PC with your permission, and you watch the whole thing from your own screen. Nothing is hidden from you — on the overclocking packages you're shown how to test stability yourself, so you're not left with settings you can't verify.

    You'll need what's on the prep list — for a package that means backups done, your game and app logins (Discord, Steam, Battle.net, Epic), an 8GB USB stick (3.0 preferred), a keyboard and mouse that aren't Bluetooth-only (wired or a 2.4GHz dongle, either is fine), and Discord on your phone for the BIOS work. That last pair catch people out: some BIOSes can't read Bluetooth devices at all and a fresh debloated Windows has no drivers for them yet, and while the PC is rebooting through BIOS changes your phone is the only line open. Want it done in person instead? Ask and we'll see what's possible.
    Is overclocking safe? Will it void my warranty?
    Overclocking is done conservatively and everything we change is tested before we hand the machine back — but it does carry the usual risks, and manufacturers may treat an overclocked part differently under warranty. That's your call to make, and it's why it's listed at the top of this page rather than in the small print. Anything we change can be put back to stock on request.
    What if the overclock doesn't hold?
    Then it comes down until it does. A setting that benchmarks well and crashes next week isn't a result, it's a liability — so the testing is most of the work, especially on memory. If your particular CPU or RAM kit doesn't have the headroom, we'll tell you what we got and why, rather than leaving you on something unstable to hit a number.
    How do I pay?
    A 50% deposit secures the booking, through Stripe's secure checkout, in AUD — card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, or pay in instalments with Afterpay or Klarna. The full list is shown at checkout. The balance is settled at the end of the session, and instalment plans apply to each payment separately rather than as one plan across both. Need to arrange something different? Ask us before you book.
    How is this different from your software?
    The software suite is a tool you run yourself — it scores your PC and applies the changes it can safely automate, and it's currently in private beta. This is the hands-on version: a BIOS update, a real overclock with testing behind it, audio and stream setup, and the parts no tool can do for you. Plenty of people want one or the other; some want both.
